Solarays

SOLAR AVANCES Y SISTEMAS DE ENERGIA, S.L. (SOLARAYS) was created in 2012 with registered office in Pedreguer (Alicante) with the aim of researching and developing (in collaboration with different technology centers and universities) in the renewable energy sector and with the purpose of being able to offer solutions that provide combined solar energy.

(Electrical and thermal) ultra-efficient, stable and continuous (without generation peaks), low weight, installable on any surface or roof and economically for the end user, as the best way to confront climate change. (CNAE 7219_Other research and experimental development in natural and technical sciences)

Prior to the constitution of the company, Jaime Caselles Fornés as promoter of the idea “High-precision passive solar tracking suitable for high-concentration photovoltaics” initiated the registration of the patent for the idea in 2011 (PCT / ES2011 / 070090 (USA , CHINA, BRAZIL, INDIA AND EUROPE).

The entry of private capital in 2015 for R&D purposes allowed us to obtain the first version of the prototype based on a highly concentrated solar photovoltaic module with “high precision” passive solar tracking for the generation of electrical and thermal energy in the same module ( called SOLARAYS Module).

  • In 2017, the first collaborative research contract was signed with the Solar Energy Institute (IES) belonging to the Polytechnic University of Madrid for technical advice and validation of the technology in its facilities. That same year the IES issued the validation report for the initial prototype.

The new entry of private capital in 2018 into the company allowed progress in the development of the technology. A second patent registration was initiated (PCT/ES2018/070303) in the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Colombia, Egypt, the European Union, Israel, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, the United States and South Africa. , which included the improvements obtained in recent years of engineering development. That same year, the validation of the SOLARAYS passive monitoring system for HCPV was publicly presented at the CPV 14 International Conference -Stephen Askins, Solar Energy Institute – UPM.

  • In 2019, new private capital entered the company, which allowed us to begin the definitive design and industrial development for the manufacture of the definitive pieces that make up the technology, with their respective molds. Patent procedures were also initiated in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. PCT/ES2018/070303.
  • In the first quarter of 2021, the industrial development stage of the product was completed and in the second quarter the manual manufacturing plant for the SOLARAYS module was created, beginning the manufacturing of the first SOLARAYS modules on which the last technological verification was carried out. of the module in final version with the validation of solar generation and tracking data. The first pilot installations were carried out on clients as the beginning of the last stage of R&D&I, which served to validate the generation data.
  • In February 2022, the company goes from having Research and Development activity to Industrial economic activity (CNAE 2711_Manufacturing of electric motors, generators and transformers), focusing exclusively on debugging the manufacturing processes of the SOLARAYS module and execution of some pilot installations with the SOLARAYS modules. as the last stage of R&D&I, in order to ratify the generation data.
